Owls are known for asking Who? Who? Who? OWOLS? Well, OWOLS tell you the who, what, when and where? Welcome to Our World of Local Sports (OWOLS), the best place to go for sports news in towns including Billerica, Burlington and Arlington. We’ll be filling you in on youth sports, high school sports at the varsity, junior varsity and freshman level and we won’t forget about the catholic, technical and private schools either. We’ll follow the athletes to college and beyond if we can. For just $9.94 a year, you can see everything the OWOLS drop. Yes, in this particular case, bird droppings happen to be a good thing. That’s less than $1 a month and if you become a member of the OWOLS team, you’ll also be eligible for free monthly drawings for things like sports tickets, restaurant gift certificates and more. We have plans for a trivia night and other fun stuff as well.

Bryan Brothers, a Burlington native and a legendary Burlington scribe for most of the past two decades, will be one of the wings for the OWOLS. A hockey junkie, Brothers can easily be found on Twitter firing updates constantly. The other wing is Doug Hastings, who has been covering sports in Burlington since the mid 1980s, in Billerica since the mid-1990s and in Arlington since 2000 or so. A mediocre athlete in every sense of the word, Hastings started writing sports as a freshman at Burlington High and hasn’t put down the pen since. OWOLS will bring you results, feature stories and plenty of action photos to enjoy and if you think we’re just limited to these three communities, think again. OWOLS will be seen hovering all over the place. Enjoy, and spread the word.

  1. No articles about Arlington sports since Dec. 1, 2019? Will someone be filling in for Doug Hastings?

    1. We are trying to get more Arlington coverage — hoping to get more coverage as the winter season goes along.

  2. Hey Doug. Love the site. It’s been great since the Burlington union stopped covering sports. Are you guys going to cover the Burlington girls indoor track team? I think you’ve covered every other winter sport so far this year. What gives? They have some good young talent on that team.

    1. Hi E.J — we are working to get as to as many events as possible. We also rely on the coaches help and they have been good about reaching out. We recently posted an update on the girls track team’s most recent two meets.

  3. Thanks Bryan. I know you guys are working hard. Always tough getting a new venture off the ground. Keep up the good work. I saw the article and enjoyed it.

  4. Suggestion…Arlington girls hockey is worth covering! Doing well!

    1. Doing our best as we get going Virginia — we are a two man operation for now. We will be there on January 25th at a minimum. We were scheduled to be there this past Saturday before the power outage happened.

      1. Great news…must be difficult with a 2 man operation. Thanks!

  5. Would love to see BHS Boys Varsity Gymnastics

    1. Hoping to get to the tri-meet set for 1/31. We haven’t branched out for much Shawsheen coverage at this point as our resources are still limited — it may be something we consider in the future.

  6. You are back! Love the new Arlington coverage! Thanks.
