BHS boys runners rebound with win

The Burlington boy’s cross-country team responded in a positive way after their first loss last week against Wakefield.

Burlington hosted Wilmington on Tuesday and defeated the Wildcats by a score of 25-30 in a tightly contest race.

Junior James Johnson led the way for Burlington finishing first overall with a time of 15:45. Johnson’s time set the BHS record for a junior previously set by Rishabh Prakash.

Senior Ricky Healey finished third overall with a time of 16:25 securing key points for the Devils.

The race was won in the sixth through eight spots with Burlington securing those points behind great efforts from sophomore Paul Conti and freshman Patrick Gray (both posted 16:59) and junior Richard Cromwell (17:08).

The time by Gray set a new BHS freshman record previously held by Johnson.

Burlington also got strong races from Doug Bibbo (17:20), Ricky Vittum (17:27), and Jonathan Wolinski (17:29).
